Concurrent Users record set for Steam
As of January 3rd, there more than 12.3 million people logged into Steam at the same time. This represents a new high, surpassing the previous 10.7 million record back in October. This could be attributed to Christmas and New Years, when many students and adults were off and of course the Steam Winter Sale 2015.

Steam is still one of the most prominent platforms for Linux, Mac and Windows PC gaming. And by Valve’s latest count, there are more than 125 million registered users and 6,000-plus games, over 1700 now with Linux support.
The top titles right now are Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Football Manager 2016, Sid Meier’s Civilization V. Where only three out of the ten top games do not have native Linux support. Some good odds, letting people know there are almost all of the top games available for the Linux and SteamOS.

This information is available through the public Steam Stats page. What’s even better, Microsoft and Sony do not typically share the same kind of information about Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
