Vector 36 physics racer available for Linux and SteamOS

A really impressive new indie game is now available for Linux, Steam, Mac and Windows PC. Vector 36, a futuristic physics-based racing game, now been made available for Linux and SteamOS.
Vector 36 is a physics based racer set on the terraformed surface of Mars. It is focused more on racing simulation rather than arcade action. You have the ability to completely customize your skimmers to create the quickest tool for the job at hand, whether it’s quick sprints or endurance races. The game is single player with a heavy emphasis on leaderboards and global player times.
Some bugs and glitches are a given, but Vector 36 is an active development and with a continuing effort to smooth the game. But so far, the gameplay is solid and rather impressive.

Ryan McKee is the solo developer behind the project, “working on the game for the past 3 years, using the latest Unity tech. I have publishing agreements with Steam, Oculus, Xbox, and Sony, so it should make it to nearly everyone. The plan so far is to get it out on Steam, Oculus, Vive, PS4, then Xbox. Not necessarily in that order.”
Vector 36 is a solid example of an indie developer rising to the challenge and taking advantage of Unity’s multi-platform support. Which is rather impressive for a small one-man studio.
Developement is indeed steady, but the results thus far have been solid and still quite fun. Featuring leaderboards to properly compete and against other players. So take your time and modify your own racer. The controls take some getting use to, but still worth playing.
Vector 36 is available now on Early Access for Linux, SteamOS, Mac and Windows PC.
